Boost Immune...Taking the "itis" out of Bursitis?

After your first tennis game in five years, your bursae are feeling downright beastly...is there something you can do to instantly reduce the sensation of pain?
Hi Lifestyler,
Thanks for reading, hope you can fit some of my suggestions into your busy schedule.
Rub it away:
This simple pain control technique, in fact has a solid scientific backing.
Freeze the throbbing pain with ice:
Ice has a fast natural effect with pain better than any other nondrug method...
The most effective technique is to slowly rub the ice in circles on the specific spot that hurts most.
Within about 5-7 minutes, that spot will feel numb and your sensation of any pain will be greatly diminished.
Use ice massage three or four times daily until fully recovered. If you don't improve, or the pain gets worse, see a doctor.
Put a squeeze on pain:
You may find that wrapping the aching area with a compression (elastic bandage) will reduce the swelling and pain.
Make sure the bandage is nice and snug, but not so tight or applied for so long that it causes you discomfort.
In other words, you don't want to block the flow of healing blood to this area.
Watch for any swelling or discoloration anywhere on your arm.
Take the bandage off when you give yourself an ice massage, and don't sleep with the bandage on.
Boost it up:
Arms tend to hang down whenever they get the chance and they swing back and forth so the blood can pool, both of which cause pain.
Keep the area that hurts elevated or raised above the level of your heart, or support with a sling to restrict motion...this helps control swelling and pain.
Rock your baby:
After two or three days of healing, when the pain is mostly gone, begin performing gentle range-of-motion exercises like gently rocking your baby as this puts the joint through all of its moves and helps prevent stiffening up.
For example:
Lean over and grasp the back of a chair with your uninjured arm, letting your tender arm hang down.
Start swinging it slowly back and forth and from side to side until you get it going in circles.
Do this for no more than two minutes at a time, several times aday, but stop if it hurts too much.
Thanks for reading. Have a fantastic day.
I welcome your feedback :-)
