Did you know yeast grows rapidly in sugar?

When your body invites yeast infection, you've got serious trouble.

Trouble as in the fungus called Candida albicans...causing vaginal itchiness, burning sensations with vaginal (white cheesy) discharge.

Normally, the vagina does a good job keeping itself clean and maintaining just the right alkaline/acid balance to protect against infections.

Any number of five factors can throw that balance off:
  1. Dietary habits
  2. Rich sugary foods
  3. Chemical douches (a liquid shower or spray applied for vaginal hygiene or as means of contraception)
  4. Spermicides or Birth control pills
  5. Antibiotics

Once the balance is off, the fungus that causes the candida...often present in women who have no symptoms can go wild...mutiplying until you feel absolutely miserable.

To speed natural healing and prevent reocurrence...

Skim milk and sugar:

Reduce or avoid eating a lot of dairy products, sucrose and artifical sweeteners.

Take a sitz bath:

A sitz bath is a warm-water bath taken in the sitting position that covers only the hips and buttocks. It may be used for either healing or hygiene purposes. The water may contain medication.

Sitz baths are often used to relieve pain, itching, infections or muscle spasms. For example, the baths are often recommended to soothe pain and promote healing.

Fill a tub with warm water and add 1/2 cup of vinegar to help rebalance the vaginal pH, which is usually reduced to less than 4.5 in yeast infection sufferers.

Always wear cotton-crotch panty hose and underwear:

Cotton is your best bet against vaginal infections because cotton is a natural fibre is 'breathes' better than nylon and other synthetic fabrics, allowing moisture to evaporate.

Bear in mind the more that air can circulate, the less likely you are to develop infection.

Dry thorougly after bathing:

If you crotch area remains damp, the bacteria and fungi normally present in this area could multiply, invade vulnerable vaginal tissue and initiate an infection.

As a natural alternative, use a natural sponge dipped in lemon juice or unribbed, unlubricated condom to help prevent you or your partner from passing the infection back and forth.
